Working Class – Handmade Linocut 50x70 cm Black/Grey/White
The Story Behind the Print
“Working Class” was created for an exhibition and quickly became one of the most strongly received prints. It draws from personal experience of living alongside animals and adapting to shared everyday rhythms.
Ten cats inhabit the composition, with one hidden inside the wall clock. This playful detail contrasts with the more tense underlying atmosphere.
The reduction printing technique introduced layered greys and deeper visual complexity, while also presenting technical challenges in precise alignment.
The image appears structured and composed.
Yet tension remains present beneath the surface.
“Working Class” is a Hungarian handcrafted linocut, designed, printed and carved by Daniel Szombathy, making it a unique wall artwork for your home or office. Each print varies slightly, ensuring it is not mass-produced but a genuine piece of art.
