The Story Behind the Print

“I Have To” comes from instinct. The raccoon is not portrayed as playful or harmless, but as a survivor. The image reflects on the urbanisation of wildlife and the necessity of adaptation.

The vertical composition follows the direction of movement, while the rope becomes a defining visual element. The action is already unfolding. There is no hesitation.

Printing this work involved technical difficulties, including uneven pressure that distorted several early impressions. The physical challenge became part of the invisible story of the piece.

The tone is slightly ironic, yet direct.
Sometimes adaptation is not a choice.
